  2. Recruitment Strategies Start them young for the best return on investment as long as you are prepared to: • Protect • Educate • Nurture

  3. Recruitment Strategies • Offer officiating as an alternative to less talented players who love the sport. • With the emphasis on younger officials it is imperative that we start them earlier in order that they can achieve the international goal

  4. Recruitment Strategies • Offer officiating to players who can no longer play. • Injury and age can provide many officials. Realistic expectations by the individual and the sport can greatly enhance the contribution.

  6. Recruitment Strategies Media • Newspaper • Radio • Television • Online • Pamphlets Make them interesting

  7. Recruitment Strategies Entry Level Courses Do • Give value • Give responsibility • Give accountability

  8. Recruitment Strategies Don’t Give them everything • Course fee • Annual registration • Free uniforms Remember • If they have nothing invested then they can walk away without consequence.
