Peace Corps Prep • In 2017, the University of South Florida launched a Peace Corps Prep program for undergraduate students. • The program prepares students for careers in international development and potential Peace Corps service. Students build four core competencies through interrelated coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development activities: • Training and Experience in a Work Sector: Education, Health, the Environment, Community and Business Development, Youth Development, and Agriculture • Foreign Language Skills • Intercultural Competence and Global Citizenship • Professional and Leadership Development

  8. The Global Citizens Project Undergraduate students have the opportunity to participate in USF’s Global Citizens (GCP) Project, refine their global competencies while at USF, and potentially earn the GCP Award, a scholarship for study abroad, and the Peace Corps Prep Certificate.

Center for Strategic & Diplomatic Studies The Center for Strategic & Diplomatic Studies (CSDS) seeks to increase awareness and knowledge about key global issues and challenges. • Conducts cutting-edge academic research on global and national security issues. • Developing a graduate certificate program on Global Leadership and Strategy. • Conducts the Conversation Series on Global Security, which brings to the university the nation’s leading experts and diplomats for an-in-depth conversation on global security. • Organizes annual, international conferences on emerging global challenges, threats and opportunities. • Has welcomed 40 diplomats, 9 ambassadors and 3,200 participants • to lectures that have extended USF’s global discourse on campus.
