CONTEXT – NEW PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK • Better outcomes for citizens and communities • A single focused set of 198 national priorities • Shared priorities for action in places – up to 35 (+16 DCSF) + local targets. No mandatory targets • New integrated assessment regime through Comprehensive Area Assessment. • Potential use of Multi Area Agreements
TARGETS Designated targets – the up-to-35 negotiated between central government and local partnerships and designated by Secretary of State Non-designated/local targets – any other targets that the local partners want to agree between themselves Statutory targets for educational attainment & early years – developed and agreed in line with guidance from SoS DCSF

What is National Indicator 8 – (NI8) • The percentage of the adult population in the local area who participated in sport and active recreation, at moderate intensity, for at least 30 minutes on at least 12 days out of the last 4 weeks (equivalent to 30 minutes on 3 or more days a week). • Adults = those aged 16 years and above.
What is National Indicator 8 (NI8) Cont..... • Sport and active recreation = The sport and recreational activities measured in the Active People survey (including for example recreational walking and recreational cycling). • Moderate intensity = this includes ‘brisk’ walking, those activities that raise the breathing rate’ and some lighter intensity activities for those aged 65 years and over – yoga, Pilates, indoor and outdoor bowls, archery and croquet.
