Enrollment Data • Simple average charts compare the average enrollments for each year based on the number of universities that responded. • “Selected” average charts compare the average enrollments for each year based on the 33 universities that responded consistently over the last 20 years. • For 2010, these data are based primarily upon Aero data, even for most combined departments. (There were 32 mixed departments responding and 28 of 32 were able to separate U/G data between Aero and others) Numbers vary for grad students and faculty. • Note: Data from Government sources was excluded this year. Appropriate government survey protocols will be followed for future years. This year data from USAFA and NPS was not included even though they responded.
Simple Average Female/Minority Undergraduate Enrollment Data
Other Data MS STUDENTS – THESIS DATA 2841 : Total MS – Aero 48 % Thesis 52 % Non-Thesis FACULTY LEVELS 551 : Total Tenure/Tenure-Track 586 : Total FTE - Aero 20 %: Asst. 24 %: Assoc. 56 %: Full 7%: Minority DO HAVE AN ENROLLMENT CAP? 20 % Yes 80 % No 49 : Number of Schools That Responded • 10 Schools • Responded • “Yes” • NC State • Ohio State • Penn State • Purdue • Stanford • Texas A&M • Colorado • Florida • UC San Diego • USC
Other Improvement Suggestions • Distribute Excel spreadsheet? • What other data do you want to see? • Include female faculty statistics next year? • Clarify faculty statistics with regard to Tenure/Tenure-Track? • Tenure/Tenure-Track Totals are often LESS THAN • the Sum of Asst + Assoc + Full Professors • Should we account for Non-Tenure Track Faculty? • Expand to include ABET accredited programs (or other programs) not • represented here? • Expand to include international programs?
