At the beginning is always a law

Law of Rights, obligations and responsibilities of patients in the FB&H - came into force July 8, 2010
This Law defines patients rights, obligations and responsibilities during using of health care and health protection

7. According to this Law a patient is:
each person, sick or healthy, insured or not insured, which is demanding or to whom is offered certain measure or service with purpose of protection, promotion of health, prevention of diseases, treatment, health care or rehabilitation

8. The purpose of this Law is to make possible for the patients in FB&H:
-equal
- adequate
- continuous
high-quality
safe
health care based on partnership with patients and healthcare workers 8
9. The Law is based on the following principles:
1. The right of patients to preserve and protect their own health, healing and disease prevention measures
2. Respect for human dignity of patients 9
10. 3. Respect for the rights of physical and mental integrity of the patient and personal safety
4. Respect and protection for the patients personality, including respect for his privacy, worldview, moral and religious beliefs

participate in the process of healing
free choice of doctor 11

(in particular deals with the protection of patients which are unable to give consent)
the confidentiality and privacy
confidentiality of the data

and achivement of the main goal:
