What is the bushmeat trade? • Bushmeat is the term used for the meat of wild animals that come from the forest. • It can be any type of terrestrial wild animal, from snails to elephants. • While some amphibious or semiaquatic freshwater animals, such as frogs, turtles and crocodiles, are also regarded as bushmeat, fish are not.
An Example Cruel acts of needless slaughter like this happen every day in regions such as the Brazilian Amazon, the Congo Basin, and South East Asia.
