  10. Medical and Health Reqs • Physical required for all 9th grade athletes • Includes Drill/Cheer • Schedule physical by end of June • BSD Physical form available on sports website • Valid for 2 years • Complete emergency and medical forms and return to school in August at “Back to School Day”

Registration Process • Registration Packets distributed to students in the middle schools February 23-25th • On-line registration closed Sunday, March 8th • Return Registration Packets to middle school: • Tyee -Monday, March 9th in LA class • Odle- Monday, March 9th, turn into your MS counselor • Tillicum – Wednesday, March 11th in LA class

We build the schedule and hire teachers to meet student requests; changes at a later time are generally not possible. • Full schedule – 7 periods for 9th, 10th (Open period - 11th, 12th) • Middle School Grades • Community service – 40 hours • Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) • must meet standard in reading and writing, • End of Course (EOC) exam for biology & math

  21. PE (page 59) • All 9th graders take 1 year of 9th grade PE • 10th-12th grade students have 3 options: • PE Class at Newport • School JV or Varsity Sport for credit • Community based sport for credit • Must log 80 hours, pay a fee, and take a test to earn the sport for PE credit
