Objectives: • The students will be able to define the following, introduction, conclusion and essay. • The students will be able to introduce a topic by incorporating the essence of a topic in the first sentence of the first paragraph. • The students will be able to plan at least 5 details of the paragraph using the 5 Ws + 1 H.

Focus Lesson: Writing… • Rough Draft: Mr. V. practices the art of being boring during 4th period in room #534 of South Philadelphia High School. He is always using PowerPoints and workbooks during his lectures and demonstrations. He believes that these are the most effective tools in being able to get his students to write well. However, he never allows his students to use their cell phones during the writing process. If cell phones were allowed, perhaps his students would be more relaxed and focused so they might be able to write better.
