Climate • Hot summers, moderate springs and autumns, cold winters. • Small number of rainy days per year. • Summers are really dry. • Winters are humid and mild.
CROPS • Wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, and wine grapes.
Animals • Camargue horses, Wild boar, Roe deer, Wolf, Fox, Brown bear, Badger, Chamois, Ibex, Alpine Marmot,Hare, Ragondin.
Plants • Mountains near snowline; few verities of moss, lichen in sheltered areas, farther down but above timberline; alpine pastores for grazing below tree line, and tall trees.
MAJOR LAND FEATURES • Mostly flat plains or gently rolling hills in North & West; the rest is mountainous, especially Pyrenees in South; Alps in East border Mediterranean Sea, Bay of Biscay & English Channel
