  2. Location Grasslands are located in Europe ,Asia Africa north and south America and Australia. The prairies are located in the mid- latitude range. The savanna is located more near the equator than the prairies

  3. Animals in the Grasslands • Africanized Bee • Monarch Larvae • Baboon • Ostrich • Meerkat Meerkat Ostriches

  4. Animals located in the Savanna and Prairie • Africanized Bee – Savanna and Prairie • Monarch Larvae – Prairie • Baboon – Savanna • Ostrich – Savanna • Meerkat - Savanna Baboon Africanized Bee

  5. Animals and Their Adaptations • Africanized Bee – learns not to slip on the pollen sac when gathering nectar from a flower. • Monarch Larvae – Eats toxins from flowers so if eaten the animal that ate the larvae will die. • Baboon – Has five grasping fingers to catch prey on the run. • Ostrich – Has long legs to flee from predators. • Meerkat – Has big eyes to see prey from far distances Monarch Larvae

  6. Lands And Agricultural Uses • The Grassland is mostly used for: • land space • Vegetations • Cattle and livestock • For the production of natural gas This here is a picture of animals using the grassland for they're land.

  10. Oglala • People visit to see the Charles R. Nursery • This is the biggest tree nursery in the united states Charles R. Nursery

  11. Precipitation • The annual precipitation is around 10-30 inches. • Savanna receives as much as 120 Centimeters of rain each year. • Most Grasslands get at least 25-75 Centimeters of rain.

  12. Plants in the Grasslands Milkweed • Blazing Star • Sweet Cone Flower • Stinging Needle • Milkweed • Poison Ivy Blazing Star

Plants and Their Adaptations • Blazing Star – Has spikes to keep butterflies away. • Sweet Cone Flower - Grows Tall to keep away from bugs. • Stinging Needle – Has a poisonous needle to keep animals from eating it. • Milkweed – Oozes poisonous sap when broken to trap and kill insects. • Poison Ivy – Irritates skin when touched. Poison Ivy

  14. Some concerns for the Grasslands are: • The wetland has been nearly drained • The Tussock grassland species has been nearly removed • The livestock has been eating most of the grass Environmental Concerns This is a picture of an ostrich around its food-grass
