GNVQ Successes Last year, Laura Stevenson achieved a Merit at GNVQ Health and Social Care She is currently studying AVCE Business and another A-level here at The Kett. The Health and Social Care GNVQ had a 100% pass rate and more than two thirds of its students got Merits.
Who are GNVQ Intermediate courses for? • Students who wish to upgrade their GCSE qualifications to grade C or above • Students who have a genuine interest in a particular broad area of employment www.kett6.net
What is a GNVQ worth? A GNVQ at Intermediate level is accepted a being equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade C or above www.kett6.net

Where does a GNVQ take you? A Levels and AVCE courses are usually two years long and can lead to Higher Education- University www.kett6.net
GNVQ Successes James Luff studied GNVQ ICT last year and this year he is continuing with the same interest taking AS ICT and two other AS courses. Leisure and Tourism student Philip Ward was also successful and is currently studying AS levels. We await stunning results form the NEW GNVQ on offer next year : Performing Arts. It will be taught by experienced and successful teachers in this specialist area.

Assessment Four units are assessed by portfolio only (similar to GCSE coursework) Two units are assessed by examination only Exams are in January and/or June www.kett6.net
Your Success • Possible successful grade are: • Distinction • Merit • Pass • You would normally be expected to achieve a distinction or merit grade to progress to an Advanced course www.kett6.net
