Exploration • His exploration started in 1609. • His exploration ended in 1610. • His exploration only lasted a year. • His exploration was short. • After his exploration a couple places and things were named after him.
Hudson River • The Hudson River was named after Henry Hudson. • He tried to sail up the river but it was to shallow. • He figured out it wasn’t a passage way until the water was to shallow to continue.
Hudson Bay • The Hudson Bay was named after him. • He sailed into the bay believing it was the Pacific Ocean. • He went into the bay after heading up the Hudson River. • The boat got stuck in the bay in the winter.
Canada • Henry Hudson on claimed part of Eastern Canada. • Gave England the claim to parts of Canada.
Fun Facts • His journey only lasted a year. • Claimed parts of Eastern Canada for Europe. • Got stuck in the Hudson River. • He was never seen again after the voyage.
