SY13-14 PVAAS Reporting Release • PVAAS Restricted Site (District/School/Projections): • September 19, 2014 (District Admin account holder only) • Night of Sept 18th – tonight! • September 24, 2014 (All PVAAS account holders, including IU staff holding accounts for access to LEA PVAAS reporting) • Night of Sept 23rd • PVAAS Public Site: October 8, 2014 • Night of Oct 7th • PVAAS Teacher Specific Reporting • Oct 23: District and School Admins • Oct 30: Teachers with PVAAS Teacher Specific Reporting • Nov 3: ½ day Teacher Trainings Begin

  5. PVAAS District Admin Account Holder – 1 per LEA • Does the right person hold this account? • Superintendent/CEO/Director OR Designee by Supt/CEO/Director • Automatically has access to ALL teacher reporting • Communication to Superintendents/CEOs from IU • Penn*Link from PDE in August 2014

Available NOW:PVAAS Export Function • Can now EXPORT PVAAS district, school, and teacher value added reporting, as well as student projection reporting. • Can also export Roster Data from SY13-14 when PVAAS Teacher Specific Reporting is released • District Admin has access automatically • S/He can CHOOSE to assign access to District Users and/or School Admins. • Areas of caution…(control & distribution of data, other analysis, outside requests, right to know/e-mailing data) • Two webinars held in August • Recording posted to PVAAS site, Go to e-Learning link

  11. Custom Student Reports • Can be created by School Admin & School Users with account management permissions. They can then share access to selected Custom Student Report(s) with School Users. • Provides a way to give teachers access to student data for their students or a grade/course, without giving access to all students in the school.

The Importance of PVAAS Teacher Specific Reporting “A student assigned to a very good teacher for a single school year may gain up to a full year’s worth of additional academic growth compared to a student assigned to a very poor teacher. Having a series of strong or weak teachers in consecutive years compounds the impact. Roster Verification follow-up: Over-claiming students across LEAs • See RV data in PVAAS system for over-claimed students as of close of RV • Proportional split of student between teachers • Prior to analyses for teacher reporting • Student-teacher linkages were removed for any charters/cyber charters who: • Did not intend to participate in RV • Did not intend to receive PVAAS Teacher Specific Reporting • List of LEAs with removed linkages is available upon request

  33. Features • Teacher and Principal Evaluation System • Secure access is available to final summary rating reports (82-1, 82-2, 82-3) • Participation is FREE for all LEAs • Participation is voluntary for all LEAs

Features • Access is available through current PVAAS accounts or accounts that will be created locally • More than one evaluator may have access to an individual’s rating form during the input phase in developing the summative report • System pre-populates the SPP • System pre-populates the teacher-specific component for the PVAAS 3-year rolling average

Features • LEAs/Districts may determine and choose year of available data (year prior or current year). • LEAs/Districts may determine the weighting/% for each type of teacher specific data. • System can be used alone, in lieu of PDE Excel documents posted, or in combination with other supervision systems.
