About AGIMO • The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), Department of Finance and Administration is working to make Australia a leader in the productive application of information and communication technologies (ICT) to government administration information and services. • AGIMO fosters the efficient and effective use of information and communications technology (ICT) by Australian Government departments and agencies.  It provides strategic advice, activities and representation relating to the application of ICT to government administration, information and services. • www.agimo.gov.au

National Information Sharing Strategy (NISS) 7 • Online and Communications Council • Agreedfor delivery in Sept 2008 to provide: • A standardised approach to information sharing in support of the delivery of government services to the Australian community. • Processes and tools to enable jurisdictions to share information whilst preserving their legislative obligations

NISS - National Services Improvement Framework • A suite of re-usable templates and tools for business agreements. • The Framework provides a tiered approach for government agencies to follow in agreeing the arrangements necessary to enable collaborative service delivery. • The tiers of the framework are: principles to collaborate, statements of intent, collaborative head agreement, project/initiative specific agreements and a collaborative resource kit.

NISS - National Address Management Framework • a national single authoritative address data set • a national standard for address data storage and interchange • national standards for web services that support common address-related functions (such as address parsing and validation) • further development of technical framework likely • driven by feedback from business case and communications program

NISS - National Data Network • Distributed library of data holdings relevant to policy analysis and research • Promotes improved integration and consistent systems across government by facilitating greater collaboration between data providers and faster access to data • Being developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) • Pilot Projects will be identified from existing communities of interest

BPIF – contents • The BPIF provides a series of tools to support agencies undertaking business process interoperability initiatives, including: • a roadmap which provides a series of steps for agencies to move towards interoperability • a list of Australian Government sources to support and guide collaborative activity • a capability maturity model which can be used by agencies to identify their current level of business process interoperability maturity • a series of case studies to outline existing Australian Government business process management strategies and approaches to cross-agency process management
