Registration Process School District of Onalaska Comprehensive School Counseling Program
Timeline • February 4 - Registration packets handed out and explained to students • February 6 – High School Electives Day • Students will tour the high school and receive an overview of each elective area • High school counselors will explain how to enter course requests online • February 11 - Turn in parent-signed registration forms to counselors at OMS • Have online course requests completedbefore this date
Registration Materials • Course Description Book • Course Selection Worksheet • Individual Learning Plan • Developed in student’s OMS Guidance class • Blank form available in back cover of Course Description Booklet
Graduation Requirements (Pg. 5) • 24 credits • English: 4 credits • Social Studies: 4 credits • Math: 3 credits • Science: 3 credits • PE: 1.75 credits • Health: 1.0 credits • Electives: 7.25 credits
Registering for Classes • Remember semester- vs. year-long classes • Freshmen must sign up for at least 7 classes each semester • Study halls are encouraged • Rank elective course choices • Check course prerequisites • Check math placement (Pg. 34) • Consider Honors Diploma options (Pg. 4)
Points to Remember • Students who do not return their course selection sheets will have a schedule built for them • The master schedule is student driven. It will be built after course requests have been entered in the computer. This will determine what classes will be offered for the 13-14 school year. Therefore, a class you register for now may not be offered based on low numbers.
Schedule Changes • Schedule changes will only be allowed for: • Students who do not have enough credits • Students who do not have the necessary prerequisite • Students who have scheduling conflicts with requested courses • Mistakes in scheduling
Summer School Information • Dates: June 10-July 19 (No class July 3-5) • Times 7:50-10:05am and/or 10:15am-12:30pm • Classes offered: • Credit: PE 9, US History (sem. 1), Word Processing I (possibly blended) • Non-credit: Enrichment • Sign-up procedure and dates • 1st come 1st served • Registration due early April (OMS or OHS) • Watch your email

Four Year College:General Requirements • 4 years of English • 3 years of math (Alg. 1, Geometry, Alg. 2) • 3 years of science • 3 years of social studies • 2 years of world language (for some) Please note: These are general/minimum requirements.
