Each year the FDOT updates its Five-Year Work Program and requests that Alachua County submit transportation project priorities for consideration as part of that update process.
Alachua County asks municipalities to submit transportation project priorities for consideration as part of that update process. Two new projects have been submitted and one proposed for revised limits. Revised project remains ranked first/second. Newly proposed projects ranked below previous years projects. One project removed due to the fact that it is entirely within MTPO area.
New and Revised Transportation Enhancement Projects Revised Application: Archer Road Trail/Archer Braid Trail Archer Road Trail currently funded for $1.5 Million in FY 2011/12 and $1.5 Million in FY 2012/13. Staff proposes to reallocate second year funding to alternative Archer Braid Trail alignment which will serve a more pressing transportation priority.
New and Revised Transportation Enhancement Projects Archer Braid Trail: #1 ranked MTPO Alachua County Bicycle Master Plan Addendum project. Staff has conducted research/met with property owners on Southwestern portion of proposed alignment as directed by BOCC in July 2008. Staff proposes alignment utilizing County R/W as opposed to Private Property/Utility Easements in this portion of the Braid.
New and Revised Transportation Enhancement Projects First New Application: Proposal to purchase conservation easement to preserve scenic viewshed near Evinston on CR 225.
New and Revised Transportation Enhancement Projects Second New Application: Proposal to construct pedestrian facility along NW 252nd St between Newberry Road and NW 8th Ave.
MULTI-MODALFISCAL YEAR 2010/11 – 2014/15 Project Location and Description 1 (Funded) SR 24City of Archer to I-75 Off-street Bicycle/pedestrian Facility in Utility R/W 2 Archer Braid Phase 1: Reallocate Partial Funding from #1 to Archer Braid Trail within alignment of County R/W (SW 91st, SW 46th Blvd, SW 75th St, SW 41st Pl) 3 City of Archer/SR 24 (Archer Road) from SR 45 (US 41/27) to McDowell Street -Construct sidewalks on both sides of SR 24 from SR 45 to McDowell Street - the location of the new SFCC center
