  29. Future Possibility of Reform

  30. Expected Directions of Reform • According to the “National Vision 2020” • --From a single paradigm of college students’ intake to a multiple-one, eg.some subject test might be arranged more than once annually. Gradually shift from union NE to flexible standardized text.

  31. Cont. • --From a knowledge based test to a capacity based one; particularly focusing on creative thinking testing ….

  32. Cont. • ---From NE score as single criterion to multiple-indicators as reference ,such as principle’s recommendation, interview, special test for genius talents so on and so forth

  33. Cont. • --From the centralized to the decentralized, particularly in professional education levels, GE levels, • Eg. with regard to GE test, academics will have more power to make decisions in admission

  34. Cont. • --From the union exam to a classified (hierachical) one ,and more autonomy given to both institutions and individual; • eg. Some top universities as an alliance might be allowed to organize their own entrance exam..

  35. Cont. • More objective • More transparency • More fair, and • More just elements • ---will be taken as a consideration in reshaping the GK system in China
