Welcome to Year 3 Key Stage 2 Mrs Feibusch Mrs Welton Mrs Mitchell TA
'Teaching, which is underpinned by a varied and imaginative curriculum, contributes effectively to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.' 'The curriculum, enhanced by a wide range of clubs and outdoor learning opportunities, provides stimulation and challenge, and as a result, makes a good contribution to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Rowledge is an inclusive and harmonious school where all the pupils thrive. The school is committed to challenging prejudice and discrimination, and promoting equality of opportunity, and ensures that no group of pupils is left behind.' Ofsted inspection May 2012
Established Strengths • The excellent relationships throughout the school. • The inclusive, caring, Christian community which succeeds in making pupils feel secure and independent and gives them the confidence to achieve. • The dedicated and committed staff, who make learning fun and model love, care, support and community. • The strong pastoral support for all. SIAS Report January 2012 (National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools)
Expectations in Year 3 The Class Charter 'The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners. Relationships within the school are exemplary. All are listened to and valued for what they can bring to the community, celebrating and supporting differences. The individual class charters ensure that difficulties are managed collaboratively allowing a sense of fairness and justice to be at the heart of behaviour management strategies which stress the importance of forgiveness. The result is a culture of praise and reward and a ‘can-do’ attitude which allows pupils to try with enthusiasm, with the knowledge that they will be supported should they need it. Communication I am first port of call - most issues can be sorted out this way. I am usually available after school for a quick message or make an appointment if you need a longer chat. Mornings are always very busy. If a message is urgent, please send message via the office or by note. Letters do come home - please check bags! Increasingly, we will be sending letters via DB Primary. If you have a general comment please feel free to use the reading record books to convey queries.
When you ask your child, 'What have you done today?' and they reply 'Nothing.' or ' I can't remember; it was boring.' Please don't believe this is the case. Your child is probably tired and assimilating all the new learning opportunities they have had. We provide them with a busy, stimulating learning experience every day and sometimes its just one step to far to have to discuss is all!
