Audi • In 1909 Audi Automobilwerke was established in Zwickau, Germany • In 1910 got a new company name Audiwerke GmbH • In 1932 the four german automakers came together to create the Auto Union AG • In 1969 Audi enters the U.S. market

Volkswagon • Headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany • In 1937 the "Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH" company is founded • In 1938 it was renamed "Volkswagenwerk GmbH". • In 1955 Volkswagon enters the U.S. auto market

BMW • Founded in 1917 Bayerische Flugzeug-Werke (BFW) • In 1918 became BMW AG • At the beginning they did not focus on building cars the did airplanes • In 1945 the BMW Munich plant was ordered, by US government, to be dismantled • In 1975 BMW USA was established
