Coverage : Institutions : Approval Vs Achievement (Pry) No. of Institutions 97% 99% 58% The state has informed that in 2012-13 by mistake there was double counting of Primary schools with the result 81915 primary institutions were approved by PAB 2012-13. The actual no. of primary schools in the State are 47400 which has also been verified by the MIS portal. Against this 47358 institutions have covered under MDM which is 100% Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

  6. Coverage Institutions : Approval Vs Achievement (U. Pry) No. of Institutions 101% 100% 94% The state has informed that in 2012-13 by mistake there was incorrect counting of Upper Primary schools with the result 39906 upper primary institutions were approved by PAB 2012-13. The actual no. of Upper primary schools in the State are 37631 which has also been verified by the MIS portal. Against this 37422 institutions have covered under MDM which is 100% Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

MI findings-Areas of Concern • Cooking cost are not made available regularly - gap of 4 to 5 months. • cooks not paid timely. • Interruption in 06 schools in Sholapur.11 schools in Gondia,17 schools in Bhandara, 5 schools in Wardha , 10 schools in Nagpur,18 schools in Chandrapur due to non-availability of food grains for one to two months • Irregular supply of food grains reported in Raigarh in 1 school, 4 schools in Sindhudurg,in 1 school in Kolhapur,4 schools in Ratnagiri,2 schools in Sangli,1 school in Satara. and Pune. • Pucca kitchen sheds-cum-stores not sanctioned in Sangli, Satara,Pune ,Ratnagiri,Sindhugarh etc. in some of the visited schools. • No roster is being maintained by the community members for supervision of the MDM. • Monitoring by State and district officials was not a regular phenomenon. ISSUES • No SSMC meeting in Last 3 Quarters.2012-13 • Delay in payment of honorarium to cooks (paid till November, 2012). • Funds released to districts upto November 2012 only. • Low payment to FCI (outstanding 46%). • 61% only cooking cost utilized. • Less foodgrain utilization 61% against 81% coverage of children • Low MME(49%) utilized. • ATN on report of MI is awaited.   43. The MDM Logo should be Widely Publicized. It may be Painted at prominent Places on the outside wall of the school. Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India
