GENERAL POINTS • High Performance (Classes-JO/SO pathway) and Participation (Gym Games) would be treated as two separate streams in all aspects • Terminology across all disciplines to become uniform • Coaches Pathway: • GL (Beginner & Awards) • Level 1 (Level 1-4) • FIG 1 (Gym Games Levels, HP 1 & 2) • FIG 2 (HP 3) • FIG 3 (HP 4-Olympic)

INTERNATIONAL SAGF EDUCATION FRAMEWORK FIG I & II possibility of decentralising & splitting theory vs practical with licence NATIONAL PROVINCES • Skills & Routine workshops • Competition training workshops • CPD points • Course & Assessment • Generic Skills and elements • CPD points • Course & Assessment • First Aid • Safeguarding • CPD points

HP Pathway • Separate from Participation Pathway • FIG Pathway of Programs for HP to be implemented 2020 without deviation • Coaches Pathway: • FIG 1 (HP 1 & 2) • FIG 2 (HP 3) • FIG 3 (HP 4-Olympic) • Focus & drive must be on Execution & not Difficulty (in competition) • FIG Academy should be running HP Training

Overcoming HP Challenges All disciplines to adopt FIG HP Program Jan 2020 SAGF has applied to host FIG Level 2 Academies to train facilitators in RHY, AER, ACRO & TRA/TU in June (RS to piggy back) This will allow SAGF to purchase the license for ALL disciplines More FIG Academies can then be run in South Africa – can be decentralized separating theory & practical SAFETY – not to do high difficulty in competition during puberty, thus focus on Execution in competition and difficulty preparation in training with belts & pits Keep standard of routines and gymnasts & coaches must work systematically to these routines

Participation Pathway Strength, conditioning & fun to be focus for Level 1-3 gymnasts Will assist for them to remain & move up to Level 4 To us FIG Participation levels (at minimum the skills) First levels of participation (Level 1-3) should be a prep for the FIG Participation 1 (set skills) Focus must be on SAFETY & ensuring skills are not taught before the gymnast is ready Ultimate goal is for Gym Games coaches to be FIG 1

LEVEL 1 Coaches Course • Components • Level 1 Generic – including assessments • Level 1 Skills Workshop • Level 1 Routine Workshop • Valid First Aid (someone in club must have Level 2) • Safeguarding • Anti-doping • Music & Movement • BUGS Coaching Skills • Only after completing ALL components will a coach get a Level 1 qualification

LEVEL 1 NOT-NEGOTIABLE Level 1 Generic (done before skills workshop) Level 1 Skills Workshop Safeguarding (can be done upfront) First Aid (can be done upfront) With these above components coaches may go on the floor for Zone – Level 4 Have 2 years to complete full components then must start from scratch

LEVEL 1 COACH May remain a Level 1 coach indefinitely, but must maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD) by attending workshops annually Level 1 coach may coach up to Level 4 From 2022 Level 5 & up must be FIG 1 (Provinces may offer to host FIG 1 in 2021 as RSA will have local experts for all components) It is recommended to present the short component workshops during National, Zone Festivals & Provincial competitions

FUTHER NOTES • TRA / TU Routines will change in 2020 for Participation stream • All other disciplines will change in 2021 for Participation stream • Level 1 Generic & Safeguarding Facilitators training will take place 8-10 November 2019 to ensure all Provinces have facilitators • Facilitators recommended rates: • Facilitating Facilitators R2 000 p/d • FIG 1 R1 800 p/d • Level 1 R1 500 per 20 participants /day • GL R1 000 per 20 participants / day • Marking R80 per script
