Department Overview • PSD main responsibilities are as follows: • Product testing & evaluation • Product problem notification and resolution • Product technical training & roadmap • Product sourcing for Sales & Purchasing Dept.
Product Testing & Evaluation • Before new products can be added to the price list, it must go through PSD for testing • Only exception is special items • PSD performs compatibility and performance (if applicable) testing on each product
Problem Notification & Resolution • Problems can be reported by sales, production, or our customers • Problem notification first goes to QA, who will assign a problem notification (PN) # to the issue • The PN is then assigned to a specific PSD staff • He or she will attempt to resolve the problem with the vendor’s assistance (if required)
Product Training & Roadmap • PSD, in conjunction with Marketing, will create and present specific product training courses for sales, technical, marketing, purchasing, and RMA department • In addition, PSD will work with the Marketing & Purchasing dept on product roadmap
Product Sourcing • PSD will assist sales, marketing, and purchasing in sourcing out special items requests by our customers • PSD will determine which product will fit the technical requirements of the request • Marketing and purchasing will then determine pricing, warranty, availability, etc.
