  2. If you have not received a Username from your DSO-IS, do not go any further. Send a request to your FSO-IS/SO-IS asking to have the DSO-IS obtain a AUXDATA logon for you and provide your Username and password.

  3. Connecting to AUXDATA In order to connect to AUXDATA you must have Java downloaded and installed on your computer. To obtain the latest version of Java go to… www.java.com And click on the “Free Java Download” link.

  4. Connecting to AUXDATA • The following slides show how to download and install Java using the following browsers: • Internet Explorer • Firefox • Chrome • Safari • Follow the instructions for the browser you are using.

  7. Internet Explorer Click Run Click “Run” to begin the installation, then follow the on screen instructions. Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click “Yes” when prompted to allow changes to be made to the computer.

  8. Firefox If using Firefox, click “Save File”. If prompted, select where to save file. When download is complete, double click on the file to begin installation. Follow the on screen instructions to complete installation. Double click to install Click Save File Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click “Yes” when prompted to allow changes to be made to the computer.

  9. Chrome Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click “Yes” when prompted to allow changes to be made to the computer. Double click to install Click to Download Click Save File If using “Chrome”, click on “Agree and Start Free Download, then click “Save” Once the download is complete, double click the file name to begin installation.

Safari (on Windows) If using Safari (on Windows), select the “Online” download for your version of Windows Click to Download Click Run Click “Run” to begin installation, then follow the on screen instructions. Note: If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, click “Yes” when prompted to allow changes to be made to the computer.

  11. Safari (on Mac) Mac Users Apple supplies their own version of Java. Use the Software Update feature (available on the Apple menu) to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java for your Mac.

  12. Connecting to AUXDATA • Once you have installed Java, open your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari) • Enter the AUXDATA address in the browsers address line. • http://auxdata.uscg.gov

  13. Connecting to AUXDATA On the opening screen, scroll down to the “Application Links” section, and click “Connect with Java/JRE” Note: When accessing AUXDATA for the first time, it could take quite some time for Java to load, so please be patient. Click to launch

  14. Connecting to AUXDATA Before logging on for the first time, click and read the “User Agreement”. Enter your Username and Password as provided to you by your DSO-IS, then click “Logon”

Change Password Screen • When logging on for the first time, you will automatically be directed to the Change Password Screen. • In the Old Password field, enter the password issued to you by your DSO-IS • In the New Password field, enter your new password created using the password criteria listed on the screen. • In the Confirm Password field, re-enter your new password. • Click Change • Click “OK” in the Password Successfully Changed window.

  16. AUXDATA Main Menu After successfully logging on, the AUXDATA Main Menu will load.

  17. AUXDATA Forgotten Password If you have forgotten your password, simply click on the “Forgotten Password” button. Click

  18. AUXDATA Forgotten Password Enter your Member ID number and your User ID, then click “Submit”. An email with a new password will be sent to your email address as recorded in AUXDATA.
