How would you describe yourself to someone who didn’t know you self-concept The way you see yourself overall Your self-concept is based on external input from others as well as internal thoughts and experiences.

Your Self-Esteem Self-esteem is part of your self-concept. self-esteem How you feel about yourself High self-esteem helps you be confident around others. • When you have high self-esteem, you: • take responsibility for your actions. • have a sense of pride in your accomplishments. • are willing to take risks because you believe in yourself. • are more likely to respect others and accept their differences.
