Question Story Question (Q.S.Q.) • Begin by looking at the title and skimming through the entire story. • Decide the genre of the selection (fiction, non-fiction etc.) • Read through all the questions to know what you will be looking for in the selection. • Read through the selection. Remember to think about the questions that were asked at the end of the selection. • Reference the text to find the answer. • ALWAYS go back over your answers. So what does this mean???
Example of using Q.S.Q. • Chip sat in his yard. He had a chart. His chart had stars on it. It was a dark night. Chip spotted a lot of stars. Stars looked like sparks. Bart visited that night. Bart was chip’s pal. Bart sat and looked at stars with Chip. A light whizzed above them. “That was fast!” yelled Bart. Another light flashed far above them. Chip grabbed Bart’s arm. “What was that?” Chip asked. “A Jet?” Bart asked. “A jet is no on this chart,” said Chip. The pals grinned. • 1) What can you say about Chip and Bart? • 2) In school, Chip’s favorite subject might be? • 3) What other things might Chip have or own?
