  1. How Many Ways Can1 Hundred Hungry Ants Go to A Picnic? By Mrs. Waters Title 1 Classes

  2. Understanding the Principles of Division Hi dee ho! It’s off to a picnic we go! One hundred very hungry ants hurry to sample the delights of a nearby picnic, but marching single file seems too slow for 100 empty tummies. One enterprising ant suggests they travel in two rows of 50, four rows of 25… and the division begins. Walking in rows may not hasten the ants’ progress but see how many different ways you can arrange ants.

  3. A whole hill of hungry ants, their faces all aglow, came swarming from the forest field below. A soft breeze fanned the sunshine and whisked them on their way. It hinted of yummies for their tummies… that means a picnic! Hooray!

  4. One hundred ants were singing and marching in a row. We’re going to a picnic! A hey and a hi dee ho!

  5. “Stop,” said the littlest ant. “We’re moving way too slow. Some food will be long gone unless we hurry up. So… with lines of 50 we’d get there soon, I know.” 100 ants were singing and marching in 2 rows

  6. “Stop!” yelled the littlest ant. “We’re moving way too slow! More of the food will be gone unless we hurry up. So… with 4 lines of 25 we’d get there soon, I know.” 100 ants were singing and marching in rows of 4.

  7. “We’re going to a picnic! A hey and a hi dee ho!”

  9. “We’re going to a picnic! A hey and a hi dee ho!” All the ants raced here and there, up, down, and to and fro. “There better be yummies for our grumbling tummies, a hey and a hi dee ho!”

  10. “Stop!” yelled the littlest ant. “We’re moving way too slow! More of the food will be gone unless we hurry up. So… with ___ lines of ___ we’d get there soon, I know.” 100 ants were singing and marching in ____ rows.

  11. “At last, we’re at the picnic! A hey and a hi dee ho!”

  12. “Stop!” yipped the littlest ant. “We’ve traveled way too slow! There’s no food for us to eat , you took so long with rows.” All the ants raced here and there, up, and down, and to and fro.”There aren’t any yummies for our growling tummies? A hey and a hi dee ho!

  13. “OH! No! 99 ants were swarming from each and every row, in hot pursuit of one little ant, who quickly turned to go. “It’s not all my fault, you know!”
