/Lone Academics • /LA_collaboration • Goal: The concern is that LA’s have little opportunity for collaborative research. This webpage will provide users with a site for identifying members with like interests for collaboration. • /LA_text_suggestions • Goal: Not just for LA’s. This site will be a repository for comments on various textbooks, etc. • /LA_ listserv • Goal: Quite a few concerns were more of a miscellaneous nature. We’d like to encourage more communications among LA’s as well as encourage others to take a part in supporting LA’s. This listserv may be used for a number of purposes (seek guest speakers, request specific information, seek referees, co-authors, etc.)
/K_12 • /K12_material • Goal: For those who have had experience with K-12, this site will be a repository for material used in a classroom. For those looking to get involved in K-12, this will provide support in getting started! • /K12_resources • Goal: One of the challenges of K-12 is simply getting started. This website will provide members with a source. Items of interest here include: ideas on introducing particular skills like critical thinking, randomness, etc; how to connect to the student; how to make it relevant. • /K12_links • Goal: This site will provide the interested participant with links to other websites. For instance, mindset.org, NSF education. • /K12_experiences • Goal: A little feedback is always nice. The form of this page will be something of a multi-person journal. We’d like participants to comment on experiences with K-12.
