Our Goal • Provide all students a snow sports experience that they will cherish for life • Provide all students with a safe and rewarding experience • Provide value for money with this snow sport camp
Key Dates • September 8th depart to Mt Buller 6:30 am on a bus fitted with seat belts – Mt Buller Bus lines • Return trip to TPS on September11th, home by 5 pm • 3 nights / 3 days skiing
Our accommodation • Spark Ski Lodge • VSL Ski Lodge • Approx. 4 per room • Breakfast provided • Request for parents to help pre-cook dinner meals • Games room, drying room, large kitchen/eating facilities
The Typical Day • 7:15am - Breakfast • 8:00 - Get ready for skiing • 8:40 - Leave for Lifts • 9:00 –11:00 - 1st Lesson • 11:30 - Skiing with teachers • 12:00 pm - Lunch Abom (Provided) • 1:30 – 3:30 - 2nd Lesson • 3:30 to 4:30 - Skiing with teachers • 4:30 to 6:00 – Skiing with teachers/Snow play • 6:00 - Dinner • 7:30 to 8:30 - Activities • 8:30 to 9:00 - Free time • 9:00 - Lights out
Clothing & Equipment • Student will need • Ski Parka • Snow Pants • Goggles • Gloves • Helmet (mandatory - provided free) • Skis, boots and poles (covered in hire costs) • Snowboard and boots (covered in hire costs) • Waterproof is essential in Australia
What is suggested to bring • Thermal Underwear – synthetic, wool, silk, • Especially if your child gets cold easily • Beanie • Woollen socks - ideally high woollen socks as it reduces rubbing from the boots • Hiking boots, ideally not runners.
Price • Price is determined by numbers. This is why it may change until we know exactly the final number of students • We are in the final year of the Yeti Ski sports Program – 25% off in 2014. • Still in the price range that was expressed in the Parent Information Night ($700-750)
Price • Payment Plan – 5 payments • Initial deposit of $100 by Monday 31th March • 4 payments of $150 – 25th April, 23rd, May, 20th June, 25th July • Final payment may be adjusted do accommodate any price changes
Medical • Inform the school if there is any specific medical conditions for your child – documentation to follow • Ski Patrol - handles all snow accidents • Mt Buller Medical Clinic • Mansfield Hospital • Melbourne – Air Evacuation • We highlyrecommend ambulance cover • In advent of an serious accident, parents will be required to pick up children from Mansfield
Important Points • Children will only ski with adult supervision • Skiing is not risk free but children will take lessons and learn the skier’s responsibility code • Food provided 3 meals a day • Student spending money – Recommendation maximum $10 a day • Deposit of $100 by Monday 31st March • Phones / IPOD: Yes, but they are the child’s responsibility • No Netbooks or game systems (Nintendo etc)
