ER-WCPT & Physiopedia + A service for the members (for MOs evaluation and comments) Executive Committee of the ER-WCPT November 2015
ER-WCPT is • 1. An observatory • Monitor and follow up developments and trends at EU and national level. • Analyse and react to them, always being proactive. • Inform all possible interested parties of developments for possible collaboration or alliances • 2. Network of resources • Share actions, know how, knowledge and tools. • Benefit from good experience or best practice from colleagues or Member Organisations. • 3. Voice of the profession at National and EU level • Recognised and valued by the EU and National stakeholders
Physiopedia + Background – rationale The topic of CPD was discussed during the joint WG meeting in Cyprus in September 2015, where ideas were discussed and it was agreed to: • Focus on the value and the importance of CPD • Focus on the MOs (instead of the individuals – as individual CPD is covered in the core standards) At the CEOs meeting in September 2015 (Amsterdam) information on “Physiopedia+” was presented, based on the Canadian successful experience. The General Secretary of ER-WCPT was asked to explore possibilities for collaboration between European MOs and Physiopedia + to offer their services to members of the MOs interested, at a reduced negotiated price. Physiopedia + Physiopedia + is: • CPD opportunity – learning opportunity to be offered by MOs to its members at a reduced price • For individual users to export to their portfolio and own CPD recording for learning activities (some MOs have their own CPD recording system). A score dashboard to register points. 1 point = 1 hour, time, topics, frequency • A continuously updated database where those registered can also see frequently visited articles or topics • An Interface that can be built in different languages according to the MOs needs. The content will be in the language of the of the courses uploaded • A cost effective solution for the MOs willing to offer this service to their members • A database of courses, books, techniques and a library • An opportunity for MOs to offer CPD courses and learning activities SAB/sef/11.15

Physiopedia + Some questions and responses about Physiopedia + • Courses and techniques – Who does the accreditation or validation of the content? – Some previous courses were accredited by WCPT. At the present time this is undertaken by experts • Forum – who controls the content? – Physiopedia is preparing the terms for use and moderator involvement • How has the access and login to “Physiopedia +” been designed for Canadian colleagues in terms of practicability? Once a member logs in on the Canadian web page with their credentials, access is granted through this website to an individual “Physiopedia +” page. (see next slide) SAB/sef/11.15

Physiopedia + Comments from the EC of the ER-WCPT to the MOs: • The ER-WCPT cannot decide the CPD model for MOs but encourages it. This existing platform offers a good opportunity, especially for small MOs not able to develop a learning platform at national level due to cost • How can a competition of this service be avoided with current CPD / courses or actions of the MOs? The MOs can use “Physiopedia +”in different ways, combining the tool with their current services: i.e. uploading their own courses or part of them as pre-courses activities. This will reduce time, investment and the related cost in terms of accommodation, i.e. absence from the work place. MOs can also add an amount to the agreed price when offering this service to their members, covering part of their expenditure from CPD activities • The tool / service can also be a new benefit offered by the MOs to their members to attract membership • The tool can also be used as a service for students with an even lower price to attract them to the association SAB/sef/11.15
Physiopedia + Time plan for this action if your MO is interested • Please inform the secretariat if you have interest in this service. Please communicate the estimated number of members you would like to offer this service to and how (translated, to which language?) DEADLINE 15 JANUARY 2016 • For MOs interested, the secretariat can request a temporary access login to “Physiopedia +”for better exploring the tool • We are also considering arranging an interactive presentation and discussion with colleagues from “Physiopedia +” prior to the 2016 GM – Would you like this discussion to be held? • Once the EC has a real estimate of the MOs interest, based on the above responses, we will get back to all of you SAB/sef/11.15
