Syllable • A syllable is a word or part of a word with • 1 Vowel Sound • S = 1 (V) • ALL syllables and words MUST have at least one vowel sound.
Pattern: Vowel + Consonant • Say the short vowel sounds: a, e, i, o, u. • When you hear a short vowel sound before a consonant sound to close the syllable, the vowel sound will be…short. • VC = short vowel sound
