Quick Game Fundamentals • Play Calling & Read • Know Your Opponent • Film Study • Practice Situations • Notice Depth, Width, Stance, and Eyes of the Following in this Order • Safeties • Corners • Outside LB’s • Inside LB’s • Defensive Line • Blitz Beaters • Go At the Blitz • Go Away from the Blitz

Quick Game – Stick • The Beauty of Stick • 3 x 1 Quick Game • Involve what is usually an offenses’ 3 best players / athletes • Quarterback, Running Back, Split End • Quick Throw to Weak Side • Helps offensive line • High Completion Percentage • Get 5 Receivers out on routes • Can run out of multiple formations and personnel groups

Quick Game – Stick • 3 x 1 Quick Game • Stick to 3 Receiver Side • “Hole” to Single Receiver Side • Free Release Flare the RB • Basic Read • Go away from down safety vs. Single Safety • Read Flat Defender • vs. 2 Deep • Read Boundary Safety – Go away from his drop • Read Defender over #2 to field or flat defender to boundary • Best Matchup vs. Man • Zone Blitz – Usually go away from down safety

  10. Quick Game – Stick • QB Drop • 3 Quick Steps from Gun • Can go Catch, Step, Throw to Stick Side

  11. Routes • X • 45 degree angle to 6-7 yard depth • Aim at toes of first LB inside • Sit over Tackle • If man, “Shield” LB if possible • RB • “Steal 2nd Base” • Want to catch ball a yard from bottom of #’s and a yard deep

Routes • Z • Mandatory Outside Release Fade • If corner sits, get head around and show #’s to QB • M • Roll Out on 2nd Inside Step • Be aware of Corner • Break away from inside threat • Y • Best release vertical to 6 yards • Read inside LB to outside LB • If ILB is inside or deep – turn and sit • If ILB is in tight coverage – break away • Feel OLB when coming out of break vs. Zone
