Direct Peer Pressure The pressure that results from someone who tries to convince you to do something you normally wouldn’t do. 6th Grade
Indirect Peer Pressure The pressure that results from being swayed to do something because people you look up to are doing it. 6th Grade
Refusal Skills Life skills that provide different ways you can say “NO” to something you do not want to do. 6th Grade
Using Refusal Skills • Give an excuse- “Sorry, I have homework”. • Say “NO” and walk away. • Blame it on your parents- “Man, my parents would take my phone away forever if I did that.” 6th Grade
