Time frames for reporting • 2 Hour Limit: Serious Bodily Injury: An injury involving extreme physical pain; involving sexual abuse; substantial risk of death; protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member, organ, or mental faculty; or requiring medical intervention such as surger, hosppitalization or physical rehabilitation
Time frames for reporting • Within 24 Hours: All others which include mistreatment, neglect, verbal, mental, sexual or physical abuse, injuries of unknown source and misappropriation of patient property
What Happens if you don’t report • Failure to comply can result in civil monetary penalty and exclusion sanctions against covered individuals and the hospice provider.
Can you combine your report with the facility’s report? • Yes, you can do that but be sure that your name is on the report the facility is making -
