  1. Dealing With Attitudes   May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6 NIV 7 Things to Remember

  2. Let’s Define Attitudes The Macmillan Dictionary defines attitude as, “Someone’s opinions or feelings about something, especially as shown by their behavior” Like it or not, attitudes are created by our own thinking patterns, and thinking patterns are composed of individual thoughts.

  3. What’s Your Attitude?

  4. 1. Attitude can lift you to a higher altitude …or carry you down into the dumps

  5. 2. Check with friends on how others perceive your attitude Demeanour or the vibes you give off such as facial expression, tone of voice, body language. Do you look mad, angry or “stand- offish”. The attitude you show can influence others to join the church or leave the church.

  6. 3. Attitude is catching. Surround yourself with positive people. It rubs off on you unconsciously. Thus the example of “She lights up the room when she walks in. Another example I hear from parents when their son or daughter gets in trouble…he /she is hanging out with the wrong crowd.

  7. 4. Attitude gives strength to the battle. • The right attitude makes the workload lighter. Think about the time you have had to do work around the house, whether cutting the grass or cleaning house. It goes much faster when you put on some good music and get to work. The music helps your mood …attitude.

  8. 5. Attitude determines your outcome. • For you see attitude influences your thoughts >>>>your thoughts influences your actions >>>>your actions influences your results. • Quite often in the workplace, they select workers with “right attitude” leaders who can motivate.

  9. 6. Attitude is wrapped up in your faith and belief • God chose people with the right attitude. • Moses • Abraham • Noah • Mary

  10. 7. Guard your attitude with prayer, study and worship • It helps you to make the right decisions and builds your relationship with Christ

  11. Quotable Quotes Work is either fun or drudgery. It depends on your attitude. I like fun!-Colleen C. Barrett The impossibility can always be broken down into possibilities-Author Unknown

  12. If you are not enjoying the journey, you probably won’t enjoy the destination-Author Unknown The sun won’t shine until you put the umbrella away. Be free.-Author Unknown

  13. It isn’t our position but our disposition which makes us happy-Author Unknown Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude. Ralph Marston Being in a good frame of mind helps keep one in the picture of health-Author Unknown

  14. “Often it is our own attitude, the atmosphere that surrounds ourselves, which determines what will be revealed to us in another”. Ellen White, Christian Character, p. 129, paragraph 4.

  15. What the Bible Says Proverbs 23:7,-“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee”. Philippians 2:5 -“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” Only a good attitude will emerge when this takes place.

  16. Jesus had the most, all-encompassing mind this world has ever seen. The Bible reminds us “Let this mind, the mind of Christ, a servant’s mindset, be in you, which Christ also had.

  17. Attitude is defined as a complete mental state, involving beliefs and feelings and values and dispositions, to act in certain ways. It is simply the way of thinking, behaving and feeling. People with good attitudes constantly monitor their own thoughts.

  18. For some of you this is a natural process that barely registers in your conscious awareness, while others do in consciously. After becoming aware of our thoughts, we should identify counter productive thinking that leads to bad attitudes, i.e. thinking or talking everything personally, or jumping to conclusions, and over generalizing

  19. Will often lead to us having a bad attitude toward a situation or an individual or a group of people, which in turn will lead those we deal with to join us in the self-deception that having bad attitudes is o.k. Remember, as a person of thought, your dominant mental attitude will determine your condition in life.
