Clapham – Thursday 2nd January • Key Customer Themes: • Tesco Price Promise:Signs are concentrated near the checkouts and generally around the store. • 5p Off Per Litre Of Fuel When You Spend £50 Or More In Store: Theme continues in store and is supported by security shrouds and A boards. • Click & Collect: Advertised in front windows and on store entry. • Christmas: Confectionery reduced over 3 bays. • NEWAlessi Crockery: For every £20 spent customers get a voucher to collect and save 70% off the range. There is a gondola end display of the range and it’s advertised over the checkouts. • Tesco's Bank Travel Money: Advertised on every checkout. • General Feel: The store was very clean, tidy and the shelves were well stocked. Plenty of staff seen around helping customers.   3. Colchester – Thursday 2nd January • Key Customer Themes: • Special Offers: There are several aisle ends with offers on. These are supported by shelf edge strips and header boards. • General Feel: The shop was stripped of POS. There were empty shelves throughout the store. The store was clean and tidy, but empty. Colchester – Thursday 2nd January • Key Customer Themes: • ASDA Price Guarantee: Continues to be advertised with large overhead signs at till points. • Price Lock: Continues to be highlighted in store with large overhead signs and tax discs. • Clean Home: The seasonal aisle has 10 bays dedicated to cleaning products at £1. Highlighted by header boards, bus stops and shelf edge strips. • The Big Sale: Home ware and George have a sale on. Highlighted by overhead signs, bus stops header boards and standees. • 100's Of Items At 50p: This theme is supported by large overhead signs and snow ploughs on aisle ends. • Rollback: Continues to be highlighted in store with tax discs and strips across the front of freezer doors. • General Feel: The store had plenty of staff filling shelves and updating POS. The store was busy at the time of visit, with a huge area downstairs dedicated to the home ware sale. Stanway – Thursday 2nd January • Key Customer Themes: • Brand Match: Supported in store with bus stops, snow ploughs and till point POS. • Great Offers: Severalgondola end offers including half price and £1 offers. Supported by snow ploughs and header boards. • Household Sale: There are 24 bays and 2 islands with lots of sale items. Highlighted by bus stops and overhead signs. • Sainsbury’s Bank: Sainsbury’s nectar credit card, advertised at checkouts with overhead signs. • Make Your Roast Go Further: Heavily promoted in store with foyer standee, security shrouds, bunting and overhead signs. Encouraging ideas to make Sunday roast leftovers go further. • General Feel: The store was quite busy at the time of visit. There was no sign of Christmas POS. Lots of new POS linking in with TV adverts. The store was mostly well stocked and tidy. Spacious on entry with few gaps in the promotional areas and well filled shippers. Staff seen working and serving customers in a friendly manner. These are in various locations in store.  • Seasonal Reductions: Save up to 50% on home ware products seen over 3 bays. • 1000's Of Ways To Great Value: Seen on signs highlighting various offers throughout the store. • Waitrose Card: Customers pay 10% less on 100's of products. Seen advertised on wobblers, bus stops and barkers throughout the store. • General Feel: Clean store and well laid out. Shelves are stacked well and neatly. Plenty of staff working on shop floor to assist the customers. Highlighted by hanging signs, header boards and tax discs. • How Did We Do: Survey to be completed in store. There is a free standing desk with questionnaires for customers to fill in before they leave the store. • General Feel: The store still had lots of Christmas items on display. This includes FSDUs and pallets of stock. There were several shelves throughout the store that needed replenishing. Currently located around the checkouts. • Warm And Cosy: Offers on selected thermal clothingremains in store. • Market Fresh: Advertised around the fresh fruit & veg department. • Half Price Weekends Offers: Advertised on high signs at front of store for 04/01/14 – 05/01/14. • General Feel: A lot of low overhead signs highlighting various offers throughout the store. Numerous bulk stacks seen especially around the checkouts. Emphasis on 'sugar swaps' & 'watch the salt' alternative products. Staff very helpful with customers.
