Hello There! My name is Alisha Gudz. I was born and raised in Arizona for most of my life. I grew up in a large household full of children, family and friends. That’s where I developed my love for kids.
During high school I volunteered in a kindergarten classroom to learn the skills that were necessary for teaching and to find out if that was the career path that I was passionate about. I found out that it was and graduated from Shadow Ridge high school with high hopes in May 2012.
Arizona State University(ASU) was my next stop on the map. I attended Mary Lou Fulton teaching college at the polytechnic campus while I earned my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.
During my junior year at ASU I participated in being a teachers aid. at Highland Elementary school. During that time I learned a lot about how to teach in a classroom. For example I learned multiple ways that children learn and how to deal with it in real life. I learned learning activities that are fun and helpful as well as new teaching methods that I am eager to use in my very own classroom.
During my senior year I took an internship at The Learning Project. The Learning Project was a school where you worked with very experienced teachers in learning how to teach your own classroom. While I was here I learned a lot, I had to make my own lesson plans, teach my own classes, grade papers, work with children and so on. http://learningproject.org/
In the spring of 2016 I graduated from Arizona State University with a GPA of 3.5. I then continued my studies abroad in Korea for this past summer. While I was there I learned a lot about different cultures and how many people learn in different ways.
