  11. Supplies for class • 1” Three-ring binder • Lined Paper • Pencil and Pen

  12. First Assignment! (Due this Friday) Were you absent yesterday? Don’t forget to get the assignments!

  13. Absence Procedures • Students who are absent should pick up their missed work from the “Absent?” crate at the front of the room. • Work will be organized into folders labeled with the days for the week. Find your work in the folder marked for the day you missed. • For example, if you missed yesterday you can find your work in Monday’s folder. • Work missed should be picked up before or after class, NOT during class. • Missed work should be completed by the end of the term.

  14. Restroom Procedures • Two bathroom passes per term from the 7th grade team. • Any restroom passes left at the end of term can be turned back in for extra credit. • You have three full minutes between classes and a break after lunch. • You may not ask to use the restroom until independent practice (unless it is an emergency or you have a note on file with the school). • If you have an emergency, please raise two fingers so that I know that it is an emergency and I will let you go (this counts as one of your passes).

Sharpening Pencils • Pencils should only be sharpened at the BEGINNING of class. • You should always have two pencils ready to go at the start of class. • The pencil sharpener is located on Ms. Lonsdale’s desk. • If you need to borrow a pencil please pick one up on the way in to class but make sure that it gets returned on your way out of class.

  21. Class Jobs • Being leaders of different parts of our class. • Making our class run smoothly and efficiently.

  22. Exit Manager • Dismisses each row at the end of class. • Only dismisses rows that have… • All students silent • Clear desks • Clean floors

Pencil Manager • In charge of letting students borrow pencils or sharpening pencils. • At the start of every class, goes to the pencil bin. • If another student needs a pencil sharpened, he/she will hand it to the Pencil Manager to sharpen quickly. • If a student does not have a pencil for the day, they will ask the Pencil Manager for one. The Pencil Manager will sign their name/date on the pencil sign-out sheet and then give them a pencil from the pencil bin. • At the end of every class, the pencil manager collects the pencils from anyone who borrowed one, and checks off their name on the pencil sign-out sheet.

  24. Technology Manager • On days that we use the laptops, the Technology Manager makes sure that every group has a laptop and that it has enough battery power. • If we are turning in laptops at the end of class, the Technology Manager makes sure that everyone turns in their laptops and that they are plugged in. • The Technology Manager also passes out and collects calculators on days that we use them.

  25. Supply Manager • On days that we use supplies (other than calculators), the Supply Manager makes sure that those supplies are handed out to every student at the start of class. • If we have worksheets to pass out, the supply manager passes them out and collects them (unless told otherwise).

  26. Board Manager • Cleans the board at the end of class when signaled and recalibrates the mimio.

  27. Application • First line: Name • Second Line: Class Period • Third Line: job you are applying for • Fourth Line: Write a complete paragraph stating your prior experience, skills that qualify you for the job, and why you should be hired. • If you do not want a job: Write a paragraph explaining why you do not want a class job.

  28. Class Jobs Note: You must complete your job without hindering the educational process, incurring any consequences, or creating distractions for any students. Not following Ms. Lonsdale’s directions regarding your job is grounds for immediate replacement. If you do not have a job this time, do not fret. Jobs will change every nine weeks.

  29. Desk Manager • Makes sure that desks are straight and in rows at the end of class.
