  3. Some Commentaries Contradict Themselves • Saul - 1 Sam 15:13-20 • Hypocrisy - Matt 23:2-4 • Christians who only talk of overcoming bad habits • Like smoking, gluttony, or TV - 1 Cor 6:12 • Helping the poor - Jas 2:14-17 • Seeing the church grow - Acts 9:31

Some Commentaries Leave Out Parts • Ignorantly - Acts 17:30 - or intentionally - Jas 2:10-11 • Not bridling the tongue - Jas 1:26 • Jehoachincut out part - Jer 36:20-26 - and the Jews did not want to hear - Acts 7:57 • Those who would take baptism (man's part) or grace (God's part) out of salvation - Rom 5:21-6:4 • Christian is to handle accurately the word - 2 Tim 2:15; Acts 20:26-27

  5. Some Commentaries Are Very Shallow • Joash had little stability - 2 Chron 24:2, 17, 18 • Christians who have not grown in the word - Heb 5:11-14; 2 Pet 1:8-9 • We must be able to admonish - Rom 15:14 - and defend our hope - 1 Pet 3:15
