A Phase of the Intelli-Lux System Creation UC Irvine Parking Lot Lighting retrofit Dina Ochoa, CPP Assistant Director of Operations Transportation and Distribution Services University of California, Irvine Green Parking Council – trained Green Garage Assessor
University of California, Irvine Scope of Project • 584 lights to be re-lamped • 37 Parking Lots • Top level of 4 Parking Structures • 3,000,000 square feet of illuminated space • Replace existing 250w High Pressure Sodium with 75w LED bi-level light and daylighting controls • HPS consumed 784,370 kWh annually • Estimated annual savings of 663,141 kWh
Project results 86% Savings! 62w X 1402 hrs = 87 kWh 32w X 2978 hrs = 95 kWh * 295* watts X 4380 hours = 1292 kWh/ per bulb per year (dusk to dawn) *occupancy sensor Total = 182 kWh/per bulb per year
