  4. The weeding process provides 4 Opportunities: • staff leadership and learning • the MPL to gain positive publicity • address the shelving budget and plan for the future • improve the library’s collection, organization, and appearance

Weeding Policy Materials that no longer meet the stated mission of the library (including items that have become damaged or obsolete) will be withdrawn from the library’s public collection according to the accepted professional practices described in the CREW* method… * See CREW: A Weeding Manual for Modern Libraries

  7. Weeding Policy continued … Disposal of withdrawn library materials will be at the discretion of the library director, subject to all relevant provisions of the Charter of the Town of Moonshine and in the most economically eco-friendly manner.
