  4. Voyages • Hernando de Soto had three voyages • One was he went to South America and conquered the Inca. Two was to Florida and then he went to the Mississippi • His purpose was to find new land and to get gold

  6. Interesting Facts • He died along the banks of the Mississippi river • He was wounded in battle with the native American • He was the governor of Cuba • At 14 he left home on a voyage to go the indies • He was the first European ever to discover a part of the Mississippi
