We are one. In the tradition of our Native American sisters and brothers, we address the four directions of the Earth. We remember how the Spirit of God resides in each direction and how all of us are united as one. (We light the candle of the East) I am the people of the East.

  2. In the tradition of our Native American sisters and brothers, we address the four directions of the Earth. We remember how the Spirit of God resides in each direction and how all of us are united as one.

  4. I am the Chinese merchant

  5. I am the veiled woman of Iran

  6. I am the Vietnamese fishing family

  7. I am the Tibetan Buddhist nun

  8. I am the office worker biking in crowded streets

  9. I am the herder of reindeer in Lapland

  10. I am the forgotten one on the streets of Calcutta

  11. I am the mountain climber of the Himalayas

  12. I am your sister

  13. I am your brother

  14. We are one

  15. (We say together…) Creator of All, we join our minds and hearts with the people of our planet Earth. We recognise the deep bond that we have with each created being. We rejoice in your sacred presence among us and within us.

  16. (We light the candle of the South) I am the people of the south

  17. I am the weavers of colourful cloth in South America

  18. I am the singers and dancers of Haiti

  19. I am the surviving bush-people of the Kalahari desert

  20. I am the factory worker in Mexico

  21. I am the mother of the disappeared in Central America

  22. I am the orphanage director in Africa

  23. I am the village shaman in the South Pacific Islands

  24. I am the aboriginal children playing in Australia

  25. I am your sister

  26. I am your brother

  27. We are one

  28. (We say together…) Divine Oneness, we celebrate the goodness, the beauty, the talents and the spirituality of all these brothers and sisters of ours.

  29. (Light the candle of the West) I am the people of the West

  30. I am the sheepherder of the Alps

  31. I am the forest ranger in the Rockies

  32. I am the winemaker in the Mediterranean

  33. I am the housewife in Poland

  34. I am the rancher in unfenced lands

  35. I am the widow in Bosnia

  36. I am the child in a high rise apartment

  37. I am the nurse in a clinic

  38. I am the peacekeeper in war-torn lands

  39. I am your sister

  40. I am your brother

  41. We are one

  42. (We say together…) We stand in solidarity with all those who suffer in any way. Rekindle our love, revitalise our compassion and renew our awareness of the unity we share with all beings.

  43. (We light the candle of the North) I am the people of the north

  44. I am the child of the Obijway tribe

  45. I am the Inuit fishing in glacial waters

  46. I am the teacher in Vancouver

  47. I am the European immigrant

  48. I am the Huron native striving for justice

  49. I am the grandmother in Nova Scotia
