AIP Scope • Recycler RF system to provide needed bunch structure to future Muon Experiments • Recycler Extraction system and connection to P1 beam line • Primary beam line aperture improvements • Beam line power supply upgrades
Scope • Secondary beam line connection to Delivery Ring • Delivery Ring injection • Delivery Ring abort system • Delivery Ring extraction systems • Collider equipment removal • Delivery Ring power supply upgrades • Infrastructure (building electrical) • Instrumentation upgrades
Schedule constraints • Availability of funds • Project Milestones • Accelerator schedule (Neutrino Program) • Length of tasks • Availability of resources
AIP/GPP spending profile Required t o meet g-2 field shimming schedule Need to fill in funding and meet g-2 start date Required to meeting Ring shipping schedule Required installation during Accelerator Shutdowns
Additional considerations • Period following present NOvA shutdown will be last opportunity to run beam prior to major reconfiguration • Controls to rings should be re-established before being interrupted by beam line construction • Savings to the lab possible by starting kicker controls work to coincide with Booster kicker work
Additional Considerations • Early completion of beam line from RR to AP0 target would allow early commissioning and characterization • Long duration for tasks such as septa and kicker PS • Manpower availability may impact schedules based on these other considerations

Costs based on externally driven schedule Resource limited year Funding limited years
Notes • Nothing planned to pay for storage or disposal of anything other than cable • We think we have done all the value engineering possible. • Still need to establish activities to allow proper tracking. • Magnet factory can do all of the individual jobs, but can they fit all of them in the available time
Conclusion • Many non-technical factors will drive the schedule • Funding profile will make meeting schedule difficult • Original AIP funding packages are too close to (or beyond) spending limits • Complete involvement of Muon Dept. makes for good coordination, but will be source of some conflicts
