Independent Practice • Read article • Explain why North Korea is a totalitarian state. • Explain why North Korea is a dictatorship. • Explain how the media (tv, internet) in North Korea aids in the creation of a totalitarian state. • What did you find odd/interesting about this country? • What questions do you still have about this country? • Create a Venn Diagram to compare/contrast the United States to North Korea.

  5. Home Work • You will imagine that you live in a totalitarian state. This can be in the past, present or future. It can be a real country or made up one. • Create a story that explains what life would be like living in a totalitarian state. • Short story, comic, poem, or song is fine. • You will not be graded on length, but on how well you can demonstrate that you understand the role of government in a totalitarian state.
