  3. Student Performance Matrix K – 1st grade (Classroom / Non-Classroom) Teacher: ______________________________ School Year: ______________ School: _______________________________ Principal: _________________ Score For Student Growth and Achievement: (50% of total calculation) example

  4. How many teachers in each category? (district-wide)

  5. So, with the VAM rating calculated… • As per state law, if a teacher receives a VAM, it must be used for, at least, 40% of their overall evaluation score and, therefore, 80% of the student performance calculation. • It is inserted into the calculation for the Student Performance portion of the Evaluation

  6. 64 50% earned 4 an above, 20% earned 5 and above = 70 14 Total = 78

  7. Instructional Practice Score • May be up to 50% of the Teacher’s Evaluation score • Based on observation of practice

  8. School: _____________________________________ Principal: ___________________ Observation Data for Calculation: Instructional Practice Calculation (Final Calculation):

  9. Category I Teachers: Highly Effective (4)= 85% or more at Level 3 and above and 0% at Level 0 or 1 Effective (3) = 65% or more at Level 3 or above Developing/Needs Improvement (2) = Less than 65% at Level 3 or higher and Less than 50% at Level 1, 0 Unsatisfactory (1) = Greater than or equal to 50% at Level 1, 0 Category II Teachers: Highly Effective (4) = 85% or more at Level 3 and above and 0% at Level 0 or 1 Effective(3) = 75% or more at Level 3 or above Developing/Needs Improvement (2)= Less than 75% at Level 3 or higher and Less than 50% at Level 1, 0 Unsatisfactory (1) = Greater than or equal to 50% at Level 1, 0 Category III Teachers: Highly Effective (4) = 90% or more at Level 3 and above and 0% at Level 0 or 1 Effective (3) = 85% or more at Level 3 or above Developing/Needs Improvement (2)= Less than 85% at Level 3 or higher and Less than 50% at Level 1, 0 Unsatisfactory (1) = Greater than or equal to 50% at Level 1, 0

  10. Domain 1 score x 68 = ______ Domain 2 score x 14 = ______ Domain 3 score x 8 = ______ Domain 4 score x 10 = ______ TOTAL:_________ / 4

  11. Domain 1 score x 68 = 3 x 68 = 204 Domain 2 score x 14 = 4 x 14 = 56 Domain 3 score x 8 = 2 x 8 = 16 Domain 4 score x 10 = 3 x 10 = 30 TOTAL: 306 / 4 Instructional Practice Score of 76.5

  12. Final Calculation • Student Performance Score = 78 • Instructional Practice Score = 77 • Average = 77.5 • Grading Scale: • 90 – 100 = Highly Effective • 70 – 89 = Effective • 60 – 69 = Needs Improvement / Developing • 0- 59 = Unsatisfactory
