Teacher Worksite Explained Teacher Information – A teacher’s contact information for students/parents (name, email, phone number, etc.) will be located here. Weekly Agendas – Daily activities and objectives for each day will be posted here so that absent students can understand what they missed. All things referred to in the agenda should be linked to the actual intranet or online location, when possible. Announcements – Class or club-related announcements that a teacher thinks are important for the kids to remember. Calendar – Where big due dates (projects, quizzes, tests, etc.) for students’ are posted Site Pages – Essentially help guides that are teacher-created for students to reference for activities both inside and outside the classroom. These can be for projects, how-to guides, re-teaching, enrichment, etc. Connection – Students can paste in a URL to a website, or a file that was created on the intranet and this will allow the teacher to see and/or grade the file remotely. Student Resources – This is where everything handed out to kids is located. Worksheets, rubrics and other items like that will be located here so that students can download them or find an extra copy anytime and anywhere. Workgroups – Is a location that files that students are working on collectively will be placed. For example, up to 5 students can open a Word file and edit it at the same time. This means that group work can now be done anywhere and anytime. Links – Bookmarks for sites that students will be using all the time. Sites students use sparingly, will most likely be placed directly in the agenda. Discussion Board – A built-in blog-like site. Students can post a discussion item to a teacher or vice versa. No one can see what is posted here unless the teacher has approved it for viewing. Upload – This is a location where students can turn in a large multimedia file to a teacher such as a video, audio file, or an image with a a large file size.
