ACTIVE SCHOOLS NEWS • Young Leader Opportunity: 5th – 9th August 2019 • Places are available for two secondary school pupils from each school in Moray to take part in a week long Dance Leaders course this summer. This is an exciting opportunity for a young person with dance experience to gain a Level 5 qualification in Dance Leadership and to gain points for your school in the attainment challenge. Participants must be aged 13+. Active Schools Keith is very pleased to let you know that local dance teacher Sharon Henderson will teach this course. Watch this space for updates on planned activities! • Volunteering opportunities • Active Schools can provide training and support for anyone with an interest in delivering activity sessions. This opportunity is open to pupils and school staff. If you have a specific sport in mind or would like to develop your leadership skills, we can help! ACTIVE SCHOOLS NEWS • Events • The Moray Forest Runs are a series of 4 cross-country events held in local forest areas. They are a great way to challenge your stamina and cross-country skills. Entry is on the day and the cost is £5 per event and the proceeds to go to local charities. Registration starts at 6.15pm. Saltire Awards - Volunteering • TSI Moray (https://www.tsimoray.org.uk/) will be visiting our school on Tuesday 30th April along with Lynn Geddes, our new Senior Youth Worker. If you have done any volunteering at all, you should get recognition for this through a Saltire Award (excellent for C.Vs.) Please drop into Room 26 for signing up for this. (period 5 to end of period 6 - including lunchtime.)
Outward Bound Trust Course January 2020
A great opportunity! • In 2017, 2018 and 2019 a selection of S3 and S2 pupils attended a week long Outward Bound Course. • Course was based at the Outward Bound Trust centre at Loch Eil, near Fort William. • Pupils took part in a wide variety of activities enhancing their leadership and team working skills.

A great opportunity! • You are being offered the opportunity to take part in one of these courses. • Course will take place at Loch Eil, near Fort William. • Date: 20th – 24th of January 2020. • Cost: should be £455 but is being offered to you at a cost of £250. • This cost includes accommodation, food, all activities, specialist clothing and equipment that are required. • You have the opportunity to reduce this cost further through fundraising activities.
