All information on the cover page is important. Phone numbers and email addresses are used during the summer to assist if there are course issues. Please be sure that Student and Parent signs the bottom of the page. West Carteret High School Striving to be a Top 10 School The Registration Form
On the back cover is the Honors & Advanced Placement Contract. Student must meet 3 of the 4 criteria. These courses are typically the most demanding and require additional work in and out of the classroom. Please print the title of each course. Criteria for placement in an Honors course at West Carteret: A final average of 90 in a related course in 8th grade For example, 90 in Science to be recommended for Honors Earth Science For Algebra I, students may have a final average of 85 or better EOG Reading scores from 7th grade – Level 4 (since 8th grade scores are not yet available) – for Honors English, Honors World History, and Honors Earth Science EOG scores in Math from 7th grade must be used as a guide for math courses.
