Four Ways to Listen • Appreciative Listening: Most basic, simply listen to enjoy • Critical Listening: Evaluate and determine logic of message • Empathic Listening: Act as a sounding board, encourages speaker to speak freely • Discriminative Listening: Single out one particular sound • Once you remember these you’ve ACED listening skills.
