Re-Co WP3: Common Re-Co process and Pilot Project Documentation D3.3 Re-Co pilot project process scheme energydesignbraunschweig GmbH (project partner) Stefan Plesser, Adrian Görtgens
Re-Co WP 3: • Common Re-Co Process and Pilot Project Documentation • This document • Shows some example approaches for Re-Co • Defines a Re-Co process for this project • Gives practical re-commendations for the current tasks in the pilots • Provides examples for elements of Re-Co projects
D3.3 Re-Co pilot project process scheme • Re-Commended Literature and examples (to be put on MOSS) • L1: ISO 50001 (International) • Content: • Energy Management in Companies / Administrations • Reference to PDCA-Cycle • Focus on Administration and Management within the Institution, less information on how to actually do something • Re-Co: • Should somehow refer to this in an “official” way • Should be more practical and less focused on Administr. • We need to understand the difference between engineering and management concepts! • L2: Continuous Commissioning Guidebook (USA) • Content: • Guidebook with analysis/contract/implementation phases, Focus on external approach • Focus on technical issues (HVAC), Energy, IEQ, Cost • ReCo: • Should not focus on contract issues • Should not only focus on Technology and O&M personnel P A D C • Source: ISO 50001
D3.3 Re-Co pilot project process scheme • Re-Commended Literature and examples (to be put on MOSS) • L3: Recommissioning Guide for Building Owners and Managers (Canada) • Content: • Some background on ReCo • 6 steps from Pre-Study to Monitoring, helpful for internal and external use • Focus on technical issues (HVAC), Energy, IEQ, Cost • Good Checklist to start (“key strategies”) • ReCo: • Should include (all kinds of) occupants • Has to skip pre-screening to select buildings? • L4: California Commissioning Guide: Existing Buildings (USA) • Content: • Similar to above, more compact • Interfaces to LEED • Also: L5: IPMVP, L6: Reports of IEA Annex 40 and 47 P D C A Source: Recommissioning Guidebook, Canmet, 2008
D3.3 Re-Co pilot project process scheme • Getting started in Re-Co: Process Template • Process design with focus on pilot status (1.+2.) • Design (Plan) • Clarification of basics and objectives • Pre-Analysis and selection of buildings • Establishing of baseline • Investigation (Plan) • Analysis of buildings • Pre-Design of Measures • Implementation (Do) • (Hand-off) Evaluation (Check) • Continuity (Act) Recommendations to pilots • 1.1 should be the focus of the pilots at this stage. • 1.2 may not be an option in this project: check if the chosen buildings would have been selected for ReCo.If you can still choose buildings: select the ones with some clear (technical) potentials! • Do not spend to much time on formalities at this point. • ReCo should start pilot logs for each pilot, this could be identical with our informal report for EACI to document what we have done. Plan Do Check Act
